Overall decent and importantly, very good looking. Great string work as well.

Plays surprisingly similar to my old Pure Drive. So everything from a PD carries through. Good side is that there is a lot of power but generating spins can take a lot more work. Based on the specs (smaller head size, pattern, stiffness, etc.) I should be feeling more control but I am not going to lie that I do. It feels as stiff as the PD. Well, maybe just me not good enough.

As a Yonex VCORE Pro 97 player, I was looking for a racquet with similar specs that had some more plow through. Felt as I always had to fully swing through. After playing with this racquet, this was everything I hoped for. Great control, a little higher swing weight, better serve & increased spin with the 16/20 pattern. The cherry on top is the design, I love this racquet.

This is an excellent frame to play with. However not for beginners. I usually prefer to play with stock frame, but this may need some customization. I have guts 17g in mains & 18g poly in crosses. Amazing shots with decent spin, although I usually play flat shots. Stable enough at net & able to absorb & direct back heavy hitters. I get good serves but have to provide with own power.

My only concern after a set starts bothering my shoulders. I will see if playing around with string tension will help. I would like to keep playing with this PS VS version.

I love it! I grew up playing with the pro staff and in high school switched to the pure strike 98, I feel that the VS is almost a combination of both racquets without some of the clunk, I like to string it a bit lower, I get wonderful feel and control from it and it’s surprisingly forgiving for a 97. The 16/20 string pattern really suits flatter strokes like mine. Also I love that they come with a leather grip so I don’t have to go through the replacement process.
